Walk for WILL
Hello again friends and family, it's that time of year again! I can't wait to see how many people we get to Walk for WILLIAM this time around!!
This is our 4'th year walking for this great cause...and of course our hero WILLIAM. Thank you to everyone who has walked/donated in the past. We are hoping for an even bigger turnout this year! Read about WILLIAMS story below and take a few minutes to register to Walk for WILLIAM, or even just donate if you are not able to join us this year. If you are walking, please register for the ONE MILE FUN RUN/WALK. The cost to walk is $30 which fully goes to the Austism Society of Raleigh and all of the great things that they do!! Plus you get a cool t-shirt to rock and show your support. We love you all!!
WILLIAM had started getting speech and developmental therapy at 18 months old after the doctor told us that he should have a certain sized vocabulary by then which he did not. After almost a year of therapies we had more specialists come in and do testing after testing after testing...in which they concluded that WILLIAM was moderate to high functioning on the spectrum. He started Pre-School at age 3 in a special needs classroom...he even took a bus to school every day, still does and loves it!!! (This year he received the Safe Bus Rider Award!) WILLIAM absolutely LOVES school!!! Since starting school 3 whole years ago he has made SO MUCH progress. He loves playing with the other children, going to gym class and learning new things every day!!
I am SO PROUD to say that WILLIAM is now talking in FULL SENTENCES and his speech is becoming clearer and easier to understand. His food choices are slowly expanding to things other than carbs lol. (He's loves carbs like his mommy!) He is showing more and more BROTHERLY love for Jaxon on a daily basis and even shares his toys with him now! (Unless it's a Spiderman toy, then Jax is out of luck lol) He knows his ABC's, can count past 30 and has an AMAZING memory!! WILLIAM can put a smile on anyone's face, no matter how bad of a mood they are in. His laugh is infectious and his smile melts hearts. My sweet boy is turning 6 years old this year...time really does fly by too quickly!! Lets' make his birthday an AUsome one!!! Thank you for taking the time to ready this and we hope to see you on Saturday October 14'th!!!
P.S. Our team name this year is Walk for WILLIAM!!!
