2022 WNC Run/Walk for Autism

Team Fairview

The “Fairview House” is the long term home for three autistic men supported by the services of the Autism Society of NC. Living there allows them to know they have a stable, secure home, and trained staff that genuinely care about them. Each of them have their own daily routines including: exercise, work, volunteering, maintenance of their own rooms and communal spaces in their house. They work on goals to further their independence and to become good community members. They enjoy eating daily dinners together and their free time both together and alone. In this setting they have been able to thrive.

Thank you for supporting the WNC Run/Walk for Autism. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.

The Autism Society of North Carolina is the leading statewide resource organization serving people across the autism spectrum throughout their lifespans.

We understand the challenges of the autism community because we work with individuals on the autism spectrum and their families every day. We offer advocacy, training and education, and direct care that helps individuals with autism to, increase their social and communication skills, develop independent-living skills, succeed in school or on the job, participate in community activities, and advocate for themselves.

We have a statewide network of resources, connecting individuals with autism and their families to life-changing programs and supports unavailable anywhere else.
